The Kaman Aerosystems SH-2G(I) Super Seasprite is the current maritime helicopter operated by number 6 squadron of the Royal New Zealand Navy. The New Zealand Defense Force has eight machines which were delivered in 2015.
The Kaman is powered by two General Electric T700 turbine engines each producing 1600hp. The rotor diameter is 13.5 meters or 44 feet 4 inches and cruises at 130knots. It has a maximum range of 275 nautical miles and a maximum flying time of 2 hours 45 minutes. The maximum load on the cargo hook is 4000lb and has a maximum gross take-off weight of 6441kg or 14,200lb.
