The North American Harvard was used as an advanced trainer in World War 2 and retired from service by the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1977. The Harvards based at Ardmore are used by the Roaring 40's aerial display team and use a Pratt and Whitney engine producing 550 horse power with a top speed of 341km/hr and has a range of 1400km.
