Originally built as single seater fighter aircraft, only 20 TR IX Spitfires were modified to be a two seater. The main modification was moving the cockpit forward 13 inches to make room for a second rear cockpit. The Spitfire is powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin engine with a top speed of 657km/hour and has a range of 1577km.
